Hi.
Welcome back to eat your crust podcast.
I'm Crystal.
And I'm Jisoo.
Hello, everyone.
This is our annual last episode of the year, and we decided that this year it would be fun to talk about winter breaks.
So we wanted to talk about winter break because as adults now, we don't really have the same winter break as we would have as children.
Nowadays, if you truly want like a long two, I think it was like two or three weeks of break, you definitely have to like, pull out your PTO and put that to use.
Otherwise, I think the average is like, you get Christmas Eve off Christmas Day and then New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Some people don't even get New Year's Day, I think sometimes.
So adult life is pretty different, dude.
Yeah.
And I think even when you do take two weeks of PTO, the feeling that you get on that time off, to me at least, feels really different from the feeling that we had on, say, the last day of school where all your teachers didn't give you homework, they maybe put on a movie or something and everyone brought in like those sugar cookies and stuff.
I feel like you always felt almost emotionally prepared to go into the holiday season versus when you take PTO, even if it is for two, three weeks or whatever.
The feeling that I get is like, oh, I need to, like, finish all this stuff.
Hopefully, you know, I can tie up any loose strings.
And sometimes the night before long PTO vacations for me, I like, stay up really late to make sure that I finish everything.
So I feel like it's just kind of different.
Also because all your coworkers will still be working, which, as we've mentioned on this podcast before, is kind of a trap because, you know, sometimes people will reach out to you while you're on vacation and you can't really even fault them for it because they might truly need you when you're off.
That is definitely a great point.
