1 小时 28 分钟Welcome to the LSE events podcast by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Get ready to hear from some of the most influential international figures in the social sciences.
Good evening, everyone.
We are surprisingly starting on time, considering that there are three Italians on stage tonight.
So my name is Valentino Larchinese.
I'm a professor of public policy here at LSE.
I'm delighted to chair this event this evening.
I'm one of the organizers of this event,
which is sponsored by the speaker, Santori Toyota International Center for Economics and Related Discipline,
and in particular from its political science and political economy group.
Okay, so the purpose tonight is to hear from mostly, to hear from Andreas, Andrea Capussella.
The presentation of his book, The Republic of Innovation, New Political Economy of Freedom.
So I will introduce Andrea in a moment.
We also have a discussant, Leila Simona Talanis, professor at King's College.
I will also introduce her properly later on.
And I'm afraid that Professor David Soskis was meant to be with us tonight.
Had a last-minute change in plans and couldn't make it.
So unfortunately, it won't be here.
Very good.
So before we get started, I also have a few housekeeping items I need to cover.
