  • The new action by the White House constitutes a high tariff on goods from one of the U.S.'s biggest trading partners.

  • The new fees are set to take effect in a month.

  • The White House says Canada is among the only countries, along with China, to retaliate against U.S.

  • Tariffs and that these latest levies are in response to the continued Canadian retaliation on goods like U.S.

  • Liquor and automobiles.

  • The new 50% fees apply to a variety of goods, including food and agriculture products and also some types of wood.

  • However, there is still a month until they take effect, meaning there is still time to negotiate.

  • Arizona is the one state holding primaries today,

  • giving a look into voter sentiment in a state where Republicans narrowly outnumber Democrats and independents.

  • The GOP will try to flip the governor's office this fall,
