  • Hi, Steve.

  • Hi, Cheryl.

  • I think we are both kind of on pins and needles excited for this episode, part three of the infidelity triumvirate or triptych.

  • Yeah.

  • So welcome to part three of this three part episode that we're doing on the subject of infidelity.

  • And as we promised last week, we have a pretty amazing guest today.

  • Do you want to tell our listeners who that is?

  • So some years ago, when Aaron and I were, as every monogamous or every couple does, struggling in some way or another, we read this book together, mating in captivity, by the writer and therapist and clinician and thinker Esther Perel.

  • And we were pretty astonished at the level of insight and really the way that it made us think anew about how difficult it is to maintain intimacy and deep connection in the context of a monogamous relationship.

  • And of course, Cheryl, the extension of that is that into many relationships, as we know from our inbox, our email.

  • Infidelity, the temptation or the fact of it, plays out in all kinds of different configurations.
