单集简介 ...

Today, French cities were been given the power to implement partial curfews after violence across France over the weekend. Hundreds of thousands of people turned out for protests against falling education standards and the rising cost of living. There were outbreaks of rioting, looting, and arson, after weeks of student-led rallies across the country. Adam is joined by the Financial Times’ Paris bureau chief, Leila Abboud, and Politico’s chief Europe correspondent, Marion Solletty, to discuss the situation on the ground, and how the government might respond just six months before the French presidential election. • Hello, it's Monday the 19th of October, which means I've got 53 kilometres to go in my 500 kilometre running challenge,

  • which coincides with Andy Burnham's first 100 days in office.

  • Let's see how you're getting on with your own challenges.

  • We've had a message from Kate, whose 100 days challenge is counting the spots on her Dalmatian called River.

  • Kate says, well, we're nearly at the end and I think my counting up challenge is almost as difficult as John Healy's.

  • In other words, balancing the budget.

  • Kate says, we now have 189 spots on the body and 43 on the legs.

  • Total so far, 266. So Kate, congratulations,

  • because I imagine counting the spots on a wriggling Dalmatian is pretty much as hard as running 500k in 100 days.

  • Speaking of which, if you would like to join me for my last 5k next Tuesday,

  • we have hired a running track at an iconic sporting venue in East London.

  • Guess what it is.
