单集简介 ...

David Ammerschlaeger is a clinical psychologist and Chief psychological counselor at ChingHo Medical Clinic in Shanghai. Today we talk about whether humanity will be ok.  We discuss AI, digital technology and their effects on people’s thinking and relationships.  We talk about the “validation vortex”, learned ADHD, and consciousness.  We also talk about AI companions, sex-bots, and the hyper-sexualization of society.  We discuss the dire consequences of outsourcing our decision-making to technology, the difficulty so many people are having with intimate relationships, and not losing connection to nature, ourselves, and each other. ____________________ 0:00 Intro 2:24 AI, Anthropomorphism, Validation Vortex 8:28 The Black Box and Critical Thinking 17:21 Why Struggle Builds the Mind 22:03 Doubt, Consciousness, What Makes Us Human 27:50 Attention, Overstimulation, and Learned ADHD 34:39 Childhood, Boredom, and Creativity 45:09 Resilience, Parenting, and a Tougher World 48:17 AI Companions and the Future of Relationships 52:12 Dating Apps, Passion, and Lasting Love 1:01:36 Escaping Intimacy in a World of Instant Rewards 1:06:00 Hypersexualization and Modern Culture 1:12:16 Slowing Down and Reclaiming Everyday Life 1:14:57 Who Benefits From Technology? 1:24:29 Human Connection, Agency, and Choosing Your Path ____________________ 下载节目文字版: Episode Transcripts ____________________ If you enjoy this show don't forget to leave a rating and subscribe! 小红书: THD The Honest Drink Follow Us On IG: @thehonestdrink_ Join Us On WeChat: THD_Official 合作: sponsor@thdpod.com Find us on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, 小宇宙, 喜马拉雅, 网易云音乐, 小红书, Bilibili or anywhere you get your podcasts. 前往小宇宙评论区与主播互动

单集文稿 ...

  • Okay, whenever you're ready.

  • Yeah.

  • Hello, everybody.

  • I'm David Amerschläger.

  • I am a clinical psychologist, and this is my third time on this podcast,

  • and I'm very happy and very excited to be back.

  • I don't know why I'm always getting invited to talk about philosophy here,

  • because it seems like Justin is mistaking me for a philosopher and not a clinical psychologist.

  • But hey, cheers.

  • I'm Justin.

  • And I'm Howie.

  • This is The Honest Drink.

  • Please welcome back, David Amerschlager.

  • David, welcome back.

  • I'm thrilled that you're back here.

  • You know, I've always really enjoyed talking to you.

  • Same here.

  • I feel like our conversations always take, like you said, this philosophical route.

  • And I just feel like...

  • Sometimes it's good to take a step back and breathe
