27 分钟Hi, everybody.
My name is Shauna, and this is the American English Podcast.
My goal here is to teach you the English spoken in the United States.
Through common expressions, pronunciation tips,
and interesting cultural snippets or stories, I hope to keep this fun, useful, and interesting.
Let's do it.
Hello, and welcome back.
I'm Shawna, your host,
and today we're going to take a trip around the world by learning country names and nationalities.
This will be a pronunciation exercise and a quiz or a game.
I'm not really sure what to call it.
I just want to test you to see how much you know.
So yeah, why this and why now?
Well, since the World Cup is bringing together countries from all over the world,
I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to learn the names of some of those countries in English.
And over the past week and a half, I've had to ask Lucas, like, what is the equivalent of Dutch in Portuguese?
Or how do you say Japanese in Portuguese?
And I figure if I have these questions, then you might also.
So this is going to be pretty fun and useful, especially in the upcoming weeks.
So here's how today's episode works.
