  • Around 10.30pm on Monday night, on a quiet residential street in North Belfast,

  • locals were shaken by a series of screams and shouting.

  • Outside, under the street lights, a man could be seen writhing

  • on the ground as an attacker wielding a kitchen knife pinned him down.

  • Already bloodied, the man could be heard shouting, "What did I do? Help me." While onlookers,

  • unable to tackle the man with a knife, were terrified about what might happen next.

  • Then, a passerby leapt into action.
