  • You're listening to the A to Z English podcast.

  • Welcome to an A to Z English podcast episode where today we're going to be talking about some grammar for you.

  • And we know grammar is not the most exciting, but it is very important.

  • And as Jack and I talked about in our vocabulary episode a little while back, vocabulary you need, and that'll help you really start communicating.

  • But grammar is where communication really gets fluent.

  • And so today we wanted to start off with something a little bit more simple.

  • And remember, all of this will be on our webpage as well.

  • So you can find notes and everything there to look at.

  • But we're going to start with simple present tense things.

  • So, present simple tense or present continuous.

  • And we know grammar is a bit tough for everyone listening, so try and just copy along and think of examples that you would use as well while you're listening to us talk, and we'll try and give you as many as examples as possible.

  • So, present present tense, let's start with that.

  • Present tense means now.

  • Yes, that's right.

  • But they're present continuous and present simple.

  • Both include now as part of their definition.

  • Yep, that's true.

  • So both of these are now verbs.

  • We're sticking with the things that are happening or the things that you do now.

  • But then what's the difference between simple and continuous?
