单集文稿 ...

  • You're listening to the A to Z English podcast.

  • Welcome to A to Z English grammar lesson.

  • Today we're going to talk about a specific grammar point, give some examples, and help explain everything so that you can use this grammar for you as well.

  • Remember, you can check our website for discussion questions and vocabulary notes, as well as link to our WhatsApp and Facebook page where you can join in the conversation.

  • So, for grammar today, I wanted to look at count and non count nouns, because this is kind of something strange that English does, Jack, that other languages don't do.

  • So, like, how many episodes are we going to record today?

  • Not how much episodes are we going.

  • To record today, exactly.

  • I think before we give some examples of exactly what it is we should try and define, because really, it comes to what is count and what is non count.

  • Right?

  • And then how we talk about it is.

  • That's easy.

  • But what is this?

  • What's a count noun?

  • And what's a non count noun?

  • An uncountable noun.

  • So, right.

  • In English, we have count.

  • Nouns are things that are relatively easy to count.

  • You know, like apples.
