  • To nip something in the bud.

  • To nip something in the bud and barking up the wrong tree.

  • And we've both got dogs, so barking up the wrong tree can be kind of a funny example of that.

  • Yeah.

  • But nipping something in the bud, what does that one mean if you nip something in the bud?

  • What's a bud?

  • Actually, first, I guess a bud is when a flower is going to sprout or, you know, some kind of plant like that.

  • Right.

  • It's for the flower comes out.

  • Right.

  • It's just.

  • Yes, it's little bud.

  • Exactly.
