To nip something in the bud.
To nip something in the bud and barking up the wrong tree.
And we've both got dogs, so barking up the wrong tree can be kind of a funny example of that.

But nipping something in the bud, what does that one mean if you nip something in the bud?
What's a bud?
Actually, first, I guess a bud is when a flower is going to sprout or, you know, some kind of plant like that.
Right.
It's for the flower comes out.
Right.
