Welcome to the A to Z English podcast.
My name is Jack and I am the host of Jack Chats.
This is a bonus episode of our main podcast.
In a Jack chat episode, I am able to read listener emails.
I am able to engage with listeners.
Sometimes I have listeners on my show so that we can do interviews, play games, just all kinds of activities that we can do, which is a fun way to interact with our listeners out there in our WhatsApp group.
And so it's lots of fun.
But before we get into listener mail, there's something quite tragic and sad that I think we need to address.
And what I mean by that is the tragedy in Turkey and Syria.
And I just want to say that, and I think I can speak on behalf of our listeners out there.
Our hearts go out to the victims and victims families of those that were affected by the earthquake.
And for those of you that are maybe not always up on news stories, rescuers in Turkey.
And I'm reading this straight from the Associated Press here in Adana, Turkey.
Rescuers in Turkey and war ravaged Syria searched through the frigid night into Tuesday, hoping to pull more survivors from the rubble after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed more than 4000 people and toppled thousands of buildings across a wide region.
Authorities feared the death toll from Monday's pre dawn earthquake and aftershocks would keep climbing as rescuers looked for survivors among tangles of metal and concrete spread across the region beset by Syria's twelve year civil war and refugee crisis.
So not only is Syria a war torn country, but now they have to deal with a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
And the same goes for Turkey, who's now working hard to rescue any survivors that may still be alive and stuck in the rubble of buildings that have collapsed.
And so again, our hearts here at the A to Z English podcast, our hearts go out to those, to the, to the victims families.
And we just, you know, regardless of your religious affiliation, we just pray to God that your.
That more survivors will be found in the coming days and rescued and brought back together with their family members.
