单集文稿 ...

  • Hello, a to Zenglish podcast listeners, today we have an episode of would you rather where Jack surprises us with a would you rather question, and we try to decide between the options.

  • All right, Jack, what are you going to ask me today?

  • Okay, so chill.

  • I've got a better one than last episode.

  • So this one is, would you rather.

  • Be in jail for a year or lose a year off of your life?

  • So would you rather be in jail for one year or live one year less than you normally would have?

  • You would have.

  • Yeah.

  • So you lose one year of your life.

  • So this is a tough one.

  • I think originally I wanted to say that I'd rather spend a year in jail, because then at least you have, like, that time and those memories, then that made me think, actually, I definitely would rather live one year less.

  • So the reason for that is because, as I said, if you go to jail, you're going to have that experience and those memories for a whole year.

  • And you could have very traumatic experiences in jail since it's not known to be a fun, happy place.

  • And those memories and those experiences could affect you for years because it's shown that trauma can reshape your brain and create neural pathways that really affect you.

  • So you could be living with the after effects of post traumatic stress disorder for years, which would mess up your life for years after.

  • So I'd rather just have one year off my life.

  • Okay.

  • Okay.

  • That's a good answer.
