  • Welcome to the A to Z English podcast, where Jack and Sochil take you on a journey from learning the basics to mastering the nuances of the english language.

  • Our podcast is designed for non native speakers who are looking to improve their english skills in a fun and interactive way.

  • Each episode covers a wide range of topics, from grammar and vocabulary to slang and culture, to help you navigate the english speaking world with ease.

  • Hi, listeners.

  • Welcome to another episode of A to Z English podcast.

  • Today we're going to do a vocabulary quick chat where we talk about the difference between my home, my place, and my house.

  • These words can be used interchangeably, but they all have slightly different connotations.

  • So stick around if you want to hear when to use which one.

  • Jack, do you want to maybe give us a rundown of what you think?

  • Each of the three, where do you think they'd be appropriate to be used?

  • Yes, I'm a little bit scared because I'm pretty sure I use these incorrectly sometimes, so.

  • Okay, well, okay.

  • Home and house.

  • Let's start with my home.

  • My house first.

  • Yeah, that's a good one.

  • Okay, so we have an expression in English that goes, a house is not a home.

  • So a house is like sticks and bricks.

  • It's like the actual structure, the building, and that's the way I would view, like, a house.

  • A home is the place where I live.
