Welcome to the A to Z English podcast.
My name is Jack, and I am one of the hosts of this podcast.
Today is a solo episode where I will talk about three crazy stories from the United States of America and today's story.
The first one is the Jersey Devil legend, and this is from the early 18th century.
The legend of the Jersey Devil originates from the pine barrens of New Jersey.
According to the myth, a woman named mother Leeds gave birth to a 13th child who transformed into a hideous creature with hooves, wings, and a forked tail.
The creature is said to haunt the region, causing mischief and fear.
While considered a folklore tale, the Jersey Devil remains a popular and spooky legend.
In the United States.
And this is a really interesting topic, actually, because this, I've heard of this before, the Jersey Devil.
In the southwest, in the United States.
We have, there's another myth about a half dog, half man creature.
Maybe it's half coyote, half man, and it's called the chupacabra.
And it comes from mexican culture, but it's also known in the southwest United States because within a lot of, because there are a lot of spanish speakers in that region.
And, yeah, it's really interesting because the Jersey devil is a lot of people that live in that area, the New Jersey area.
