In this episode of The A to Z English Podcast, Jack is joined by Layla and Hendrick as they read three "Florida Man" news stories and comment on them. Florida Man Attempts to Rob Bank Using a Live Alligator: A Florida man walked into a bank wearing a mask and demanded money from the tellers, threatening them with a live alligator he had brought along. The police arrived shortly after and managed to apprehend the man and safely capture the alligator. It turned out the alligator was just as confused as the bank employees. Florida Man Builds Homemade Rocket to Prove Earth is Flat: In an attempt to prove his belief that the Earth is flat, a Florida man built a homemade rocket in his backyard. He intended to launch himself high into the sky to take photos that would supposedly show the flatness of the planet. While the rocket did lift off, it didn't get very far before it crash-landed back to the ground. Miraculously, the man survived with only minor injuries. Florida Man Calls 911 to Report Stolen Cocaine: A man in Florida called 911 to report that someone had stolen his cocaine. When the police arrived, the man explained that he had bought a bag of cocaine earlier and believed he had been cheated because he didn't receive the amount he had paid for. The police, unsurprisingly, arrested him on drug-related charges.
