Welcome to the A to Z English podcast.
My name is Jack, and I'm one of the hosts of the podcast.
And today I'm doing a solo episode, and this is an episode that I like to call Jack chats.
And I haven't done one of these for a long time, but I really felt like it was important for me to talk about this today.
And what I want to talk about is a poem that is my absolute favorite poem in the whole world.
I don't think there's a poem that is more beautiful, more profound, deeper than this poem.
And the poem is called the journey, and it is by the poet Mary Oliver.
And I'm going to put a link to the poem in the description of the podcast because I cannot read the poem on the podcast because of copyright issues.
Obviously, it is not my work.
And so without permission, I cannot obviously read the poem.
But what I can do is point you to it on the Internet.
You can read it and then you can.
And then I will talk about why it is important to me and some of the, some of the meanings in it, like some of the messages that Mary Oliver, I think, is trying to convey to readers of the poem.
And so the poem starts out with the character, the.
Well, it's.
She's talking to you, and she says that suddenly you realize that you needed to follow your dream.
And it's like you can put your dreams on hold for so long, but one day you're going to wake up and you're going to realize, I need to follow my dream.
