Welcome to the A to Z English podcast.
My name is Jack, and I'm one of the hosts of the podcast.
I am here with my co host, Sochil.
And today, Sochil is going to share an experience that she had recently at a sweat lodge.
And.
Sochil.
What is a sweat lodge?
A sweat lodge is something that I'm sure many cultures have a variation of, but it's very common amongst native american cultures.
And this is all the way from North America down to South America.
And you're essentially in a room where they use various methods to crank the heat up so that you sweat.
And this is meant to purify the body, and it's kind of a healing experience.
But I was at one that is kind of like a level up from that, which is temascal.
It's a traditional mexican sweat lodge, and you're basically inside kind of a stone room that's, like built in ground, so it's like a cave.
Oh, it's not.
It's not a tent type of situation.
No.
It's like a stone dome.
