Jack
Social and today we are doing a quick chat episode and today's quick chat question is.
00:00:47
Jack
Do you believe in the concept of fate that everything happens for a reason? So social, do you believe in fate?
00:01:00
Xochitl
Do I believe in fate well?
00:01:05
Xochitl
It This one is kind of hard. I don't think there is a predetermined state or destiny.
00:01:14
Xochitl
But I think there's kind of like a butterfly effect which for our listeners who don't know what that is, it's like a scientific term to describe how like a butterfly flaps its wings and it causes a chain of different reactions that leads up to.
00:01:34
Xochitl
Some big thing. It could be like a.
00:01:38
Xochitl
Like a hurricane, I think is the biggest example is, yeah.
00:01:41
Jack
Right, like a like a butterfly flaps its wings in Brazil, and there's a hurricane in Florida because of that. You know something?
00:01:52
Xochitl
Yes, I think I believe kind of in like a butterfly effect with their personal choices like we could.
00:01:52
Jack
Like that, yeah.
00:02:02
Xochitl
It's like yesterday I went out for a I went out to a party cause it's Mexico's Independence Day.
00:02:09
Xochitl
And and it's like a butterfly effect because say you go out and you get robbed.
00:02:21
Xochitl
Then you lost all your money for the month, or you go out and you meet the love of your life and you end up getting married to them like it's just so weird, because making one little choice like will I go out today or tomorrow?
00:02:42
Xochitl
Or am I going to go to the grocery store right now and you across the street and get hit by a car or you go to the grocery store and you're the 100th customer and they give?
00:02:53
Xochitl
You $1,000,000.
00:02:55
Xochitl
Just like you just.
00:02:56
Xochitl
Never know where life is gonna take you on some really tiny decision.
00:02:57

OK.
00:03:02
Xochitl
And I've read a lot about that, like people who said they were a few minutes late to work, so they missed 9/11, which for our viewers who aren't familiar, was a really huge tragedy in the United States. That happened when I was still in diapers. But the planes crashed in the Twin Towers and a lot.
00:03:19
Xochitl
Of people died and.
00:03:22
Xochitl
A lot of people talk about how they were minutes late to work and missed.
00:03:26
Xochitl
Dying and getting killed and caught up in that horrible disaster because of just like, ohh, their alarm didn't go off or their alarm did go off. So they took five extra minutes in the shower or they burned their toes and made some new.
00:03:40
Xochitl
Toast. So yeah. How about you, Jack?
00:03:43
Xochitl
Do you believe in fate?
00:03:45
Jack
Yeah, I mean, I definitely should because.
00:03:50
Jack
For, I think I told the story of How I Met my wife, but we we met at a school, but we were only friends at that time. We we weren't dating and.
00:04:03
Jack
And then I I left Korea and I went to another country and she went to another country. And it wasn't until two years later.
00:04:15
Jack
When I was just walking on the street in Seoul.
00:04:19
Jack
That I ran into her in a city of however many million people there are in Korea.
00:04:24
Xochitl
Like 10 of people or something.
00:04:27
Jack
Just by chance because
