Welcome to the A to Z English podcast. My name is Jack and I'm one of the hosts of the podcast and I'm here with my co-host, Social and social, and I are going to answer another question for you. And the question is, are you?
00:00:47
Jack
A chill person.
00:00:50
Jack
Or are you uptight?
00:00:53
Jack
So this would be, I mean that's totally appropriate for you social to define, chill.
00:00:59
A
Chill. Who is someone who is relaxed, someone who goes with the flow, someone who is easygoing and you know, doesn't have a lot of worries, isn't uptight or strong, too high? And yeah, just generally kind of a relaxed and.
00:01:00
Jack
What does that mean?
00:01:20
Xochitl
And our carefree demeanor.
00:01:23
Jack
What about uptight? What is an uptight person?
00:01:26
Xochitl
Uptight is the opposite of that. It's someone who is really neurotic, who tends to.
00:01:34
Xochitl
Go through a lot of stress like self-imposed stress. They worry about things a lot and they usually they care a lot to like order and for things to be done like exactly how they want them done. And it's just someone who has like a lot of little.
00:01:57
Xochitl
Concerning your worries, every little thing is something that they're.
00:02:02
Xochitl
Every little detail, something they're consumed.
00:02:03
Xochitl
With, you know and.
00:02:05
Xochitl
So they have a lot of self-imposed stress, a lot of self-imposed anxiety. And yeah, it there. Yeah, it's it can be hard to be around people like that. I think especially if you're easy going.
00:02:17
Jack
Yeah. If you're easy guy I.
00:02:18
Jack
Think that we have a name for those people now.
00:02:20
Jack
We kind of call them Karens.
00:02:22
Jack
Is that at Karen's? Yeah.
00:02:23
Xochitl
Yeah, and it's.
00:02:24
Xochitl
It's kind of like you, Karen, though I mean.
00:02:27
Xochitl
I guess for.
00:02:28
Xochitl
Me. Well, duck you up first. Are you uptight or are you laid?
00:02:31
Xochitl
Back, I know.
00:02:32
Jack
Ohh OK you probably know the answer already, but I mean just by the cadence of my voice and the way I the way I talk. But yeah, I'm I'm a I'm a chill person like, but I I haven't always been chill. I mean, I've definitely had my moments of insanity.
00:02:51
Jack
And you know where I get really angry. Sometimes I think chill people.
00:02:59
Jack
It's like uh, it's kind of a vibe that people give off, but it's.
00:03:03
Jack
A A public persona.
00:03:04
Jack
And so even when they get into their when they get home.
00:03:08
Jack
They can kind of turn from chill to very neurotic. Like you said, you know, uptight and obsessive and things like that. So I definitely have had my moments of that, but I try to be chill and I think that's my natural setting, is that I'm pretty easy going.

Right.
00:03:28
Xochitl
I think that.
00:03:30
Xochitl
It's sometimes it's like not even intentional. A lot of people think of me as a really chill and laid back person, but.
00:03:36
Xochitl
In my own mind, I'm super neurotic and have like a lot of anxiety going on in my head and like I get really stressed out and.
00:03:45
Xochitl
Stuff, but I think sometimes when we're in social settings, it's a little bit of a distraction, right? Or there's, like, other things to focus on that aren't in our control. And I think a lot.
00:03:57
Xochitl
