Welcome to the A to Z English podcast.
My name is Jack, and I am one of the hosts of the podcast.
And I am here with three of my friends, Agnieszka, Salima, and Anna Maria, and they are going to help me with this am I the jerk?
Episode?
And this is another Halloween special episode, because as you guys know, I love Halloween.
And so here's the title.
Am I the jerk for not allowing trick or treaters in my haunted house?
Every Halloween, I 40 year old male, transform my house into a haunted maze.
I spend weeks decorating it with spooky props, animatronics, and fog machines to create a genuinely terrifying experience.
It's become somewhat of a neighborhood attraction, and kids and adults alike look forward to visiting my house every year.
This year, as usual, I went all out with my decorations, and my haunted house was scarier than ever.
However, I added an extra element to the experience.
Live actors dressed as monsters who would jump out and scare the visitors.
I thought it would make the haunted house even more exciting.
As the night went on, I noticed that some younger children, around six to eight years old, were coming to my door with their parents, excited to go through the haunted house.
Seeing their age and knowing how intense the experience could be, I made a quick decision to tell them, I'm sorry, but this haunted house is too scary for little kids.
It's not recommended for children under twelve.
Maybe next year.
The parents were angry, and one of them accused me of being a Halloween snob and ruining their kids Halloween experience.
