On November 16, 1776, british and hessian troops captured Fort Washington in New York during the American Revolutionary War.
On November 16, 1885, canadian rebel leader Louis Riel was executed for treason.
On November 16, 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th us state.
On November 16, 1960, the film Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, was released.
On November 16, 1973, Skylab, the first us space station, was launched into orbit.
On November 16, 1988, the US Congress passed the Civil Liberties act authorizing reparations to Japanese Americans who had been interned during World War Two.
And on November 16, 2001, the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, also titled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States, premiered in London.
And please note that these are just a few examples of historical events that occurred on November 16 in world history.
