You're listening to the A to Z English podcast.
Welcome to the A to Z English podcast.
My name is Jack, and I'm one of the hosts of the podcast.
And today I am doing a solo episode, which I like to call quick talk episodes, although this may not be a very quick episode, but that's okay.
What I want to talk about today is Murphy's Law.
And Murphy's Law is a law that states if something bad can happen, it will happen.
And I'm going to tell you a story that took place about 20 years ago, maybe 23 years ago.
And this story is a story of many events that you could consider Murphy's law events where if something bad could happen, it happened at that time.
And there were.
It was one after the other after the other after the other.
So it was a series of very annoying events.
But when I look back on it, I just have to laugh because it was so absurd.
As we say in English, absurd means ridiculous or crazy.
Just, yeah, an insane experience.
So in 2001, I decided that I was going to sell most of my possessions that I had, you know, big things like my computer and my car.
And I was going to moved to Thailand to become an english teacher.
I was going to teach English as a foreign language.
And this is what I did.
I did go to Thailand, and it led to me teaching in Korea, which is where I met my wife and settled down to build a life.
And I have been teaching in Korea for 20 years, over 20 years.
