My guest today has been a roadie, a stage designer, a television entrepreneur,
the founder of Yo Sushi and Yo Tell and one of the original dragons on Dragon's Den.
Before all that, he left school at 16, spent time in prison
and found himself backstage at some of the biggest moments in British music.
His memoir is Yo Man, rock and roll, robots and reinventing British dining.

Now, I'm going to take you right back to the beginning because you grew up in Singapore.
Tell us what you remember about that.
Oh, I went to Singapore when I was two on a ship, a troop ship called the Dilwara and my earliest memories.
And we arrived in hot, hot Singapore.
I remember learning to swim at the age of three.
Lovely holidays out in the jungle.
My father in the army, seeing all the army people coming to dinner and being a bit jealous.
My dog dying.
Those are a few memories.
