Discussion keeps the world turning.
This is Round Table.
You're listening to Round Table.
I'm Steve Hatherly.
Coming up, as part of our National Day holiday specials,
we're bringing you episodes from Nihao, Are You?,
a series of cross-cultural conversations
exploring how people in China and the United States
see, experience, and understand each other.
And now, let's turn to today's story.
Four American baseball teams came all the way to China, not just to compete on the field,
but also to connect with their Chinese counterparts and make new friends.
What began as a week-long baseball event in Fuzhou, in southeast China's Fujian Province,
turned into much more than a series of games.
There were shared laughs and surprising similarities between the two cultures and between the players.
So after spending several days in China, what left the deepest impression on these young players and coaches?
And beyond the scores and competition, what did they take away from the experience?
Let's hear from our reporter, Li Yunqi, who speaks with Robert Dubrovsky,
coach of the baseball team from Cornell College in Iowa,
and Xia Mofeng, a student from Xi'an Physical Education University.
