  • You 're listening to a podcast, which means you 're probably multitasking,

  • maybe even scrolling home listings on Redfin, saving homes without expecting to get them.

  • But Redfin isn't just built for endless browsing.

  • It's built to help you find and own a home.

  • With agents who close twice as many deals, when you find the one, you've got a real shot at getting it.

  • Get started at redfin. com.

  • Own the dream.

  • You're listening to Life Kit from NPR.

  • Hey, it's Marielle.

  • So the knob on one of my kitchen cabinets fell off the other day.

  • I was putting away the dishes.

  • And I did try to screw it back on, but it wasn't working.

  • I was going to need to take out the tools, and I did not have the energy for that.

  • Also, I'm going to be honest, I didn't even take the screw out.

  • So here we are, days later, and every time I open the cabinet,

  • I forget and I get poked in the hand by the pointy end of a screw.

  • Why does it feel like there's so much we have to do just to stay alive and be reasonably comfortable?

  • Also, these tasks, they always make themselves known to me at the least convenient times.

  • Like I go to wash my hands and wouldn't you know it, the soap dispenser is empty.
