Today, millions of websites around the world are dealing with the discovery of a potential cyber-security threat using artificial intelligence. Vulnerabilities were found in the PHP programming language, which is used on roughly 70% of the internet, by researchers using AI. These flaws had gone undetected for over a decade, with the boss of the UK's National Cyber Security Centre saying the scale of the issue has been “unprecedented”. Technology and AI editor Zoe Kleinman joins Adam to explain what has happened, and how the weakness was identified. Plus, President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff has had talks with Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, whom he called a “humanitarian”. Russia editor Steve Rosenberg tells us what’s significant about the latest developments and whether the prospect of peace is any closer. You can now listen to Newscast on a smart speaker.
