Hello, super great kids.
It's our birthday.
We've been podcasting for six years.
I wonder how many of you have been listening since the beginning.
That would make you very grown up now.
To celebrate our birthday, we have not one, but two stories.
The first is The Golden Bird, a magical fairy tale from the Grimm Brothers in Germany, told by Anne Johnson.
And the second is two little stories, one about the moon and one about the sun.
Thanks to you and your love of stories, what started as a very small idea during the COVID pandemic has grown bigger
and bigger and suddenly we've been sharing stories for six years.
So now, thanks to everyone who subscribed and helped to keep us going,
lots of children and families around the world regularly listen to traditional tales.
And we've got to know many wonderful storytellers and even managed,
with the help of Bloomsbury publishers, to get some of our stories available in a book.
Yippity-doo-dah-day.
Hurrah for story lovers and for ideas which grow like little acorns into, well, little oak trees.
Now, just before we start the first of this week's stories,
here is a little question for you while we have a quick word with the grown-ups.
Can you remember the first story which you ever heard on our podcast?
And where were you?
