1 小时 31 分钟Welcome to the LSE events podcast by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Get ready to hear from some of the most influential international figures in the social sciences.
Hello, then.
Welcome, everybody.
What a pleasure to see you all here today.
It's great to have so many of you here at LSE and I also know there's a lot of people online as well.
This is an event, our annual lecture,
which is joint between the Department of Health Policy and LSE Health.
I'm the current head of department for the Department of Health Policy and my name's Andrew Street and that's all I'm going to say about myself.
But I'd also like to thank Professor Elias Mosialis, who's director of LSE Health,
who helped organize the event and invite Michelle to be with us.
And I'd also like to thank Annabel Fenton, who's the communications manager at LSE Health,
who among other people has helped put this event together, but has led much of the organization.
So thanks very much, Annabel.
It's a real pleasure, Michelle, to invite you here today.
Michelle Williams is now at Stanford University, which she joined in January,
where she's professor of epidemiology and population health.
Prior to that, she was a number of years at Harvard, at the Harvard T.H.
Chan School of Public Health.
She had the dubious privilege of being dean of faculty for seven years.
