26 分钟I have read a lot of science fiction recently.
Specifically, I have read a lot of analysis of how AI is going to lead to a productivity mega boom.
We've had anecdotes and studies of specific settings.
We've also had a lot of corporate tales and many excited emoji-filled LinkedIn posts.
But beneath all of that,
it's been quite hard to see real-life evidence of AI making us more efficient at scale.
Recently, though, There are signs that we might be able to move on from science fiction to fact.
There are signs that the positive effects that people have been discussing might be showing up in the data.
This week, we're going to ask, is AI making us more productive?
This is The Economics Show with Samaya Keynes.
I'm joined here in the studio by my wonderful colleagues, John Byrne Murdoch and Sarah O'Connor.
Sarah and John, hello.
Hello.
Hello.
Okay.
So you write this newsletter together on AI and the labour market.
And so on this show, we always start with a question where the answer is on a scale of one to 10.
So on that scale, one to 10, how bullish are you about the effects of AI on productivity now?
Sarah, I'm going to start with you.
Right now.
