At the height of the vicious and bloody civil war in Syria,
the British journalist John Cantlie was dragged from a car at gunpoint and kidnapped.
Two years later,
his best friend and colleague James Foley became the first Western hostage to be beheaded by ISIS,
live on camera.
John's fate was more complicated.
A few months later, he appeared in a very different ISIS video.
One that was seen as propaganda,
raising questions about whether he had turned or
