of our story following Gabriel, who is currently in the Peak District.
Yesterday Gabriel reached the summit of Kinder Scout and shared a moment of connection with fellow walkers.
Today he follows local advice once again,
heading out early to experience one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the area.
And on his adventures, we will also learn some useful words for describing scenic views.
As always,
supporting materials for today's lesson are available at www.joineelan.com forward slash plus.
So let's begin with a snapshot of what's to come.
As Gabriel climbs the rugged slopes of Mam Tour, a panoramic view opens up before him.
The landscape feels breathtaking, serene and completely unspoilt,
until one small detail threatens to change everything.
Okay, let's go into our vocabulary breakdown.
We are going to look at five adjectives today starting with breathtaking breathtaking
If something is breathtaking then it's so impressive that it almost takes your breath away For example the view from the top was breathtaking Next we have the adjective rugged,
rugged.
This describes a landscape that's rough, uneven or wild in appearance.
I said landscape but you can use rugged to describe people as well.
