  • Hey friends, it's Rosie.

  • Welcome back to Radio Headspace.

  • So there I was late alone and in the dangerous spiral that is just one more video on YouTube.

  • I clicked on a clip called paranormal caught on camera,

  • because who doesn't love a little spooky adrenaline before bed?

  • 10 minutes later, I'd watched a woman's curtain flap by itself,

  • a set of footprints appear on a dusty floor, and a shadow move where no person stood.

  • And then, my brain, being the overachieving little drama queen it is, decided to go pro.

  • Suddenly, I wasn't just watching ghosts on a screen.

  • I was writing an entire horror film in my head,

  • starring me, my home, and an inexplicable midnight visitor.

  • Okay, but what if the sound in my bedroom is actually footsteps?

  • What if the creek is the neighbor, but it's not?

  • What if there's a gas leak?

  • What if the smoke detector is dead?

  • What if, what if, what if?

  • Within 15 minutes, I'd gone from curious foyer, to a full-blown script writer of a catastrophe.

  • My heart was racing, my palms prickled,

  • and I could feel that old familiar loop of worry tighten like a noose.
