Doubt is a great driver.
There are things that you cannot see in athlete.
You cannot see their guts, their heart,
their desire, their will, or their intelligence for strategy.
You can see their athleticism.
You see how fast they move, how high they jump, what their technique looks like.
All that stuff can fool you in missing someone who's really great.
So I was never told that I was going to be good.
I always wanted to prove people wrong
because I wanted to be good and no one thought I could be chasing for the next title.
It kind of is a drug.
Chasing the wins, chasing that adrenaline rush.
It's something special and something stressful all at once.
