Hello and welcome back to your English Five a Day,
season three on the English Like a Native podcast.
This is a short daily podcast for intermediate to advanced level learners who want to build natural English vocabulary through stories.
My name is Anna and this is week four, day five.
Today, I'll tell you the complete story of Gabriel's night out in Manchester.
From the football match and celebrations, through the clubs and pop-up party,
to a slower, reflective Sunday morning.
After the story, we'll move into our language lens,
where we'll look at how comparatives and superlatives help Gabriel.
describe intensity, contrast and standout moments from the week.
Supporting materials for this lesson are available at www.joineelan.com forward slash plus.
But if you already have access to the Supporting Resources folder,
then today's download will now be in that folder.
So let's begin with the full chapter four.
Gabriel has checked into his hostel close to Potato Wharf in Manchester.
The accommodation is more spacious than the last place he stayed in and it seems much busier than he expected.
A lot of other guests are in the bar and one of them comes up to Gabriel and says in his local accent.
All right mate, you want to know the best place to watch the game tonight?
Should be a cracking match.
Probably the most exciting of the tournament so far.
