Okay, our friends.
So we're celebrating Valentine's Day here very soon.
And I feel like so often we kind of forget about why we celebrate Saint Valentine's Day.
We forget about the guy it's named after, Saint Valentine himself.
So I jumped right on this book when I saw it.
It's called Saint Valentine the Kind-hearted and it's retold and illustrated by Ned Bustard.
And I can't help but think maybe if we know more about who Saint Valentine was,
it'll be a lot easier to celebrate him as well on this special day.
Before we start this story I want to also add in that this is a saint Valentine and so whenever you hear the word saint you know you're dealing with someone who has according to the Catholic Church become a person who has completed miracles and so you're going to find a lot of religious things in this book and you're going to find a lot of things that have to do with surprised miracles and and things like that.
And of course this this person also lived a long long long time ago and in a different place than where we live today.
So I want you to think about those things as we read this story.
So let's get right down to it.
Today's story is read by mommy and Mr.
Potato Peeler.
You never know who it's gonna be with mommy, but it's Mr.
Potato Peeler today.
There you go.
Hold on tight, kids.
Let's do it.
Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
