  • US President Donald Trump and China's President Xi Jinping agreed to postpone China's export controls on rare Earths in exchange for US tower reductions on imports from China.

  • The deal was a culmination of a long-running trade dispute between the US and China,

  • which had been heightened in recent months by President Trump's aggressive rhetoric and increased tariffs.

  • To talk about the current state of US-China relations, I spoke to Scott Kennedy,

  • senior advisor and trustee chair in Chinese business and economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies,
