Chinese President Xi Jinping is calling on China and Brazil to better defend the interests of both countries and the global south.
During a phone call with Brazil's Luiz Inácio Lúdera Silva,
President Xi said China and Brazil are important members of the global south and constructive forces in maintaining world peace and stability.
He urged the both sides to safeguard the central role of the United Nations as well as international fairness and justice.
He said China is willing to remain a good good friend and partner of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
On bilateral relations,
President Xi said China will promote high-quality development with high-level opening up and provide more opportunities for China-Brazil cooperation.
