it seems like they've made friends economically anyway.
The countries have a preliminary trade deal after landmark talks in Beijing.
The deal will reduce tariffs in areas like electric vehicles and allow Canadians to enter China without a visa.
China's President Xi Jinping welcomed the deal,
saying that both sides should respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney described China as a respectful trading partner.
