Across the nation,
protesters took to the streets to protest the ICE actions that this past week in Minnesota led to the death of Minneapolis woman Renee Goode.
In that city, thousands turned out,
and while there were some arrests, the demonstrations were mostly peaceful.
Protesters turned out in Baton Rouge, Brook Thorrington, with member station WRFK has details.
Bonnie Bilan serves on the leadership board for Indivisible Baton Rouge,
a group that holds weekly protests against the Trump administration.
She says what happened in Minneapolis was the tipping point for many.
They're realizing that it's time to stand up.
They can't take it anymore.
Mammy Broadhurst, the pastor at University Presbyterian Church,
encouraged attendees to stay positive.
