Police say that the two people shot and wounded by Border Patrol officers in Portland,
Oregon on Thursday have an association with the Venezuelan gang,
a public attorney representing one of the men disputes the charge.
Alex Zelinski with Oregon Public Broadcasting has the latest.
Portland Police Chief Bob Day said that the two people shot by federal authorities are associated with the trend del Raguay.
The U.S.
Department of Homeland Security has said that the two are gang members.
At a press conference,
Day said that the pair were connected to a July shooting in Portland that involved the Venezuelan gang.
He could not confirm whether they were suspects.
Day said he was hesitant to share these details.

The two who were injured in the Thursday shooting are in stable condition.
They are in federal custody.
The FBI is overseeing the investigation.
