Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China and Africa are at a pivotal stage of development,
and should deepen cooperation to advance modernization, uphold multilateralism,
and protect the interests of the global south.
He reaffirmed China's support for African unity, independence, and African-led solutions.
The Foreign Minister was speaking during the 9th China-African Union Strategic Dialogue with AU Commission Chairperson Mahmood Ali Yusuf in Addis Ababa.
Yusuf describes the China as a trusted and reliable partner.
He praised the long-standing cooperation, reaffirmed the One China Principle,
and expressed readiness to further strengthen ties to benefit both sides.
Wang Yi also joined African leaders to officially launch the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
