It sold 2.26 million electric vehicles in 2025, held by expansion in Europe,
where it's launched cars like the Dolphin Surf.

BYD has taken that title from Tesla.
Tesla sales fell 9% in 2025.
The second year it has reported a drop.
That will come as a surprise to its founder Elon Musk,
who had this to say about BYD when he was asked about it on Bloomberg in 2011.
