Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China places high importance on its relations with South Korea and welcomes President Li Jie-myeong's upcoming visit to China.
He made the remarks during a phone conversation with his South Korean counterpart,
Chongyun, at a letter's request.
During the conversation,
the South Korean Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country's commitment to the One China principle and to advancing the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership.
President Li Jiamun is scheduled to pay a state visit to China from Sunday to Wednesday next week.
This is Li's first visit to China since taking office in June.
