  • First up, China has urged the United States to immediately stop arming Taiwan.

  • A spokesperson from the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office on Wednesday caught on Washington to honor its commitment towards the One China Principle and handle the Taiwan-related issues with the utmost caution.

  • The statement came after Washington approved the sale of $11 billion of weapons to Taiwan.

  • The spokesperson has accused the US weapons package of interfering in China's internal affairs,

  • undermining China's sovereignty and security interests,

  • and is sending a wrong signal to Taiwan's independent forces.

  • He has also warned Taiwan's DPP authorities that depending on foreign support does not change the island's status as part of China.
