When a teenager moved 200 kilometres to a new city he noticed one thing that troubled him.
He felt a strong sense there was a lack of integration between different communities.
He witnessed ethnically motivated attacks and observed strong hostilities towards Jewish people and Russians too.
And as he grew up he felt it was obvious why society in and around Poland was becoming fragmented.
