8 分钟As you know, I'm a strong believer in the power of input.
We learn languages through input.
At times we may be concerned that we don't speak as well as we would like,
but input is what drives our ability to acquire the language.
And today I want to talk a bit about how I use AI to customize my input to make it effective for me,
target my interests, target my level in order to, you know, acquire the language faster.
So one thing about input, input sort of helps us acquire the language as our comprehension improves.
And so it's kind of like AI in that as we accumulate enough of the language in us,
like large language models, we then start to be able to anticipate what's coming.
We predict the next word.
This enables us to produce utterances and so forth.
But it's based on comprehension.
We have to have some level of comprehension.
Now, in order to understand things that we are reading or listening to,
we essentially require two things.
We require a vocabulary.
We have to have at least 85-90% of the words that are in this content that we're trying to read or listen to.
And we also have to have some background.
So these are two things that influence our ability to understand something.
And if we understand better, we enjoy it more, we learn more.
