13 分钟Hello and welcome to the English Like a native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week 48,
day four of your English Fiver Day, the second season.
We are on a mission to help you build a habit of dunking daily into the English language so that you can build a fortress around you.
of English vocabulary that you can use to accurately express your thoughts, opinions and ideas.
So, without further ado,
let's begin today's episode looking at the fabulous vocabulary I've picked out for you and we'll start with a snapshot of what's to come.
Lee visited a seaside town and bought a silly souvenir.
a t-shirt emblazoned with a huge Union Jack on the front.
When he showed it to his friends, they burst out laughing,
joking that he looked like a walking flag.
Lee didn't mind the banter.
Instead, he just laughed, happy to have something that reminded him of his trip.
Let's have a look at that vocabulary then, starting with the collocation.
A seaside town is a town next to the sea,
especially one where people spend their holidays and enjoy themselves.
There are many seaside towns that you can visit in the UK although it's obviously best to visit during the late spring or summer months
because that's when they are at their best.
Otherwise you just get blown about.
You get soaking wet and it can be freezing cold.
