What are you most looking forward to indulging in this Christmas time?
We asked some colleagues here at The Economist.
My children are still young enough that watching them open presents is a spectacular joy.
So, you know, when I wake up, I'm really looking forward to that.
It's going to make me sound really scrooge-ish,
but because I prepare a lot of the food that we eat at this time of year,
I don't look forward to anything quite the same way.
I don't think I'm a very indulgent guy.
Most of what I'm looking forward to is being with people I love and reading things that I will enjoy and watching things that do me good.
And I don't think any of that's indulgent.
That's just what life should be like, right?
But really,
once people started relaxing into the festive spirit a bit more and took off their very serious Economisty hats,
some pretty obvious themes emerged.
I'm looking forward to duck.
Maybe some very good Pinot Gris to go with it.
At this time of the year, my favourite cocktail is a boulevardier,
which is a kind of winter negroni introduced to me by Jason Palmer of the Intelligence fame,
and I will drink one of those.
