  • Hong Kong's High Court has found Jimmy Lai, an instigator of anti-China rights in the city in 2019,

  • guilty on two charges of conspiring to collude with external forces and a charge of conspiracy to publish seditious materials.

  • The central government's Hong Kong liaison office says it supported the Hong Kong special administrative region and the verdict against Lai.

  • The state concepts Hong Kong and Macau affairs office has also the ruling,

  • adding that any attempts to obstruct Hong Kong's efforts to safeguard national security are doomed to fail.

  • Meanwhile,

  • a small number of Western politicians and media outlets have used the pretext of human rights and freedom to smear Hong Kong's rule of law.
