Hong Kong's High Court has found Jimmy Lai, an instigator of anti-China rights in the city in 2019,
guilty on two charges of conspiring to collude with external forces and a charge of conspiracy to publish seditious materials.
The central government's Hong Kong liaison office says it supported the Hong Kong special administrative region and the verdict against Lai.
The state concepts Hong Kong and Macau affairs office has also the ruling,
adding that any attempts to obstruct Hong Kong's efforts to safeguard national security are doomed to fail.
Meanwhile,
a small number of Western politicians and media outlets have used the pretext of human rights and freedom to smear Hong Kong's rule of law.
